![]() Anyone who enjoys this game should check out Andretti Racing, a sequel released in 1997. Overall, it's a solid racing game that offers some new ideas and decent realism, though it's nothing earth-shattering. The best feature of the game is undoubtedly the innovative 'career path' option that tracks your progress from rookie to circuit champion, a really cool feature for its time that sadly wasn't followed by later games. The driving was fair, even for the time, but with six different types of cars. A nifty little title that challenged racers to a variety of series and then allowed them to spend the resulting prize money as they moved up the ranks to 'Championship Cars'. ![]() I'm not a fan of the early 90's 3D polygons in racing games, but Mario Andretti offers some pretty interesting racing action for its time. It features a fun career mode and a nice selection of different tracks and cars, from Sprint Cars and Stock Cars to Formula 1 and Indy.
